    Operational amplifiers

    Golden rules:

    1. No current flows into either input terminal.
    2. The two input terminals are always at the same voltage .

    Ideal characteristics:

    1. Gain = \(\infty\) (gain is infinity)
    2. \(v_o\) = 0, when \(v_1\) = \(v_2\) (no offset voltage)
    3. \(R_\mathrm{d}\) = \(\infty\) (input impedance is infinity)
    4. \(R_\mathrm{o}\) = 0 (output impedance is zero)
    5. Bandwidth = \(\infty\) (no frequency-response limitations) and no phase shift
