Operational amplifiers

Golden rules:

1. No current flows into either input terminal.
2. The two input terminals are always at the same voltage .

Ideal characteristics:

1. Gain = $$\infty$$ (gain is infinity)
2. $$v_o$$ = 0, when $$v_1$$ = $$v_2$$ (no offset voltage)
3. $$R_\mathrm{d}$$ = $$\infty$$ (input impedance is infinity)
4. $$R_\mathrm{o}$$ = 0 (output impedance is zero)
5. Bandwidth = $$\infty$$ (no frequency-response limitations) and no phase shift
